The project awarded best in category is a Grade II listed property, which made the project all the more challenging. The building is located in the middle of Ampthill on a prominent position in Dunstable Street adjacent to the Limes development. It was extensively remodeled to the side and rear to create an additional bedroom, enlarged living space and kitchen with vaulted ceilings and large areas of glass to the garden elevation bringing the ‘outside, in’, forming a pleasing and useful addition to this listed property.

The extension was highlighted by the judges for its bold, glazed statement to the rear garden elevation combined with its sensitivity to the original listed building.
