Our principal, Stuart Palmer studied at Sheffield University before going into London to work at highly regarded practices such as Building Design Partnership and Norman Foster & Partners on prestigious projects such as Heathrow Terminal 5 before setting up Fod Architects in early 2003. He has a wealth of experience with a huge variety of projects from porches to bespoke new builds working in conservation areas and with listed buildings.

Stuart is a member of the Royal Institute of Architects (RIBA) as well as the Architects Registration Board.

FOD Architects offers a personal service with a level of know-how across all areas whilst dealing with sometime challenging projects. We look to provide cost effective and innovative designs, whilst making a positive impact on our clients’ lives.

The relationship between architect and client is vital to the success of any project. Our experience allows us to match our client’s brief within building and budgetary constraints.

We have previously won best Domestic Extension/Refurbishment in RIBA Bedfordshire Association of Architects.

The house market is not what is used to be. Nowadays extensions and home improvements must be carefully thought out in order to reap a financial reward. We can help you analyse what the buyers in your area are looking for. Looking for the right area of your home to improve is vitally important, it may be by improving the kitchen/dining space of a home as opposed to the traditional idea of creating more bedrooms as the kitchen has become the life centre of many family homes.

A family’s long-term needs should always be considered in any plans. We can help you think about the future implications for you and your family as well as your bank account.

It’s all about proportion, practically and design!
